About the Artist

My passion for art began early in life. As a child my mother, also an artist, opened her own stained glass store in Fairbanks, Alaska. Through the years I worked at her shop, taught classes and enjoyed creating art daily.
At 18 I moved out of state to go to college and to be closer to extended family. To afford college I made glass jewelry in my aunts basement and did craft shows on the weekends. This was my first experience selling my art. I soon felt homesick so I moved back to Alaska. I continued taking university classes but was always drawn back to anything art.
Over time I discovered my own personal love for glass mosaics. I began creating beautiful and unique works of art that were inspired by the nature around me, along with the experience of growing up in Alaska. Mosaics intrigued me mostly because of the calming process of puzzling tiny pieces of glass together to form a larger, complicated image. Each mosaic I make has sometimes hundreds of pieces that I precisely place. Every piece I create is unique in its own way. No two pieces are, or could ever be the same.
I began selling my mosaics in my mom's shop and over time in more and more locations. I was making mosaics on my lunch breaks, at night and on the weekends. Soon I was ready to jump in and risk it all for my dream. I quit my “normal” jobs and became an artist! 8 years ago I took the largest leap and became a self-employed artist. This was the scariest decision of my life. I worked longer hours and have way less free time, but my days are full of passion to create. I now live in a beautiful log home on 40 acres with my wife, 9 dogs and 2 cats. I am lucky to do whaat I love and I love sharing what I love to do with others!
